Q1:activity

The activity I would like to participate in isplaying foosball with my friends after school.

My friends and I are big fans of this kind ofsports. As high school students, we have been studied for almost ten years.Sometimes we get tired of staying inside tackling math problems. It is naturalfor us to exercise our body and fresh our mind through participating in somesports, through which we can chat and joke around with each other.

Foosball is a perfect activity for us since wecan release our stress with our running the risk of injuring our body, especially compared to some relatively violent activities such as football orbasketball.

Q2 record,Some people like to record their experiences by diary or photo(这里还有一个例子 忘了),others not .What isyour opinion and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support yourresponse.

原来的机经按我的理解是在diary和photo之间选择一个prefer的,实际考试重点似乎在record上,就是说whether or not like to record experiences.

Personally speaking, I would like to record myexperiences by things that could last for a long time. My reasons are asfollows.

First, things happened in the past can remind ussome meaningful and significant moments in our lives. I started the habit ofwriting diary when I was in junior high. For all these yeas, I recorded someimportant times such as my graduations, the first time I was praised by myEnglish teacher, an exciting basketball match. I would like to review thesefeelings once a time.

Also, keeping photos enables us to share thehappy times with people we really care about, like our families and friends. Itis a good opportunity to bound with each other.

  Q3 withdraw class 延长的是withdrawal period

大一新生over ambitious才会选那么多课 第二点教授讲basic instruction 是do the routine things.

In the dialogue, the man opposed to the policymade in the reading passage, which states that the school will withdraw severalof its classes. First of all, the man argued that it was not the problem of theclass, but the problem of the over ambitious and over confidence of theupcoming freshmen, that will result in over choosing of the classes. Secondly, the professors who teach these classes usually use the basic instructions, which the students may feel like they want to withdraw from these classes, probably think they are too easy.

The reading passage introduced a concept calledbait pricing, and during the lecture, the professor used one example toillustrate this concept. The example talks about a woman buying a computer; shewas attracted by the amazing low price and got into the store. After she boughtthe computer, the salesman said that computer is actually really basic, and sheneeded to buy some other accessories and software in order to supply with itstechnology. Then the salesman stated several items with the price, which aremuch higher than elsewhere. Thus the woman bought all these software andaccessories along with the cheap computer. Nevertheless, the store still made alot of money on the software and accessories it sold to the woman.

  Q5 20out of 50 photos 两个人都是摄影展的举办者,女的提议选20个,男的担心有人upset;然后男的提议换大的展厅,女的表示那个地方平时很少有人去,展览的时候可能人会不多,两个人都是主角

In the dialogue, the women encountered a problem. The problem is that they will be showing some photos in a gallery, there are 50of them and they all looked really nice, however, they are only able to show 20out of 50 of them in the gallery because it is a little bit too small. Thereare two possible solutions, the first solution is to choose the 20 out of 50photos, and the second solutions is to switch to a bigger gallery. Personallyspeaking, I prefer the second solutions for the following reasons. Since thegallery is big enough to hold 50 photos, why choose only 20 and disappointother 30 people? Even though the bigger gallery is a little bit far away fromtheir center of attention, it could still attract audiences because thesephotos are really nice.

Q6 讲的是不同的species之间可以communicate andhelp each other.好像是inter-species communication. honey guide and honey badger可以通过这种途径互相帮助,他们都需要bee nest,但是吃的东西不一样,貌似guide吃的不是那个bee.honey guide因为飞的远视野开阔,发现mest的时候,sing song to letthe badger know, because guide 不能接近蜂巢,因为bee protection. then the bager make specific sound to respond it ,andfind the nest。在此注意不是因为它们强壮,而是它们能发出一种smell,我没太听清,我答得是fetid smell, whichbees can not withstand, so the bee fly away, then both the honey guide andhoney bager can get what they want.

Interspecies communication: bird & bagger differentspecies can talk, communicate, cooperate with each other. Take a birdcooperating with a mammal to get the honey. The bird named honey guide is goodat finding the bee's nest但有蜜蜂保护这种鸟没法接近。 那种mammal 叫honeybadger可以发出一种 smell 赶走bee 所以他们俩合作 鸟找到蜂巢 就make noise 引导M过来 赶走bee 这样。

In the lecture, the professor talks aboutinter-species communication. The concept of this is birds and bagger is twodifferent species that can talk, communicate, and cooperate with each other.Take a bird cooperating with a mammal to get the honey. The bird named honeyguide is good at finding the bee's nest.
